Former Bucs Star Files For Bankruptcy
It’s been a while since we’ve heard an insane outburst from former Tampa Bay Buccaneer Antonio Brown. The controversial wide receiver who has been heavily active on social media and garnering attention for his dark humor posts on his personal page recently, filed for bankruptcy.
According to multiple sources, Antonio Brown owes eight different creditors $3 million as shown on papers filed at the US bankruptcy court in south Florida, where he had reportedly filed for Chapter 11. Part of that $3 million includes a 2020 incident where AB got into a physical altercation with a truck driver. AB was ordered by the court to pay $1.2 million. Over his career, he made $88 million playing football but, his assets are less than $50,000.
Antonio Brown poked fun at his situation through his own media outlet CTESPN, in a post where referred to himself as a “Legend” & a “First Ballot Hall of Famer in 2027.” He also announced he will be dropping new music. AB seems to be unfazed by the recent news he is trying to capitalize on it financially, by making merch surround around filing for bankruptcy. A t-shirt that features him running away with a bag of money with Tom Brandy’s ex-wife Gisele, along with Taylor Swift and others running after him, with the title “Antonio’s Big Financial Fumble.”
Brown was a 12-year vet in the NFL who had years of success with the Pittsburgh Steelers before being traded to the Oakland Raiders who would release him, and then he’d join the Patriots, and then land with Tom Brady again in Tampa Bay. AB scored a touchdown in the Super Bowl and walked away from Tampa with a ring.
The wildest highlight of his career would be back in 2022 when he took his jersey and equipment off and waved goodbye to a New York Jets crowd as he jogged into the locker room mid-game. That would be AB’s last appearance on the field.
