Where Does Florida Rank For Most Fun States?

If you were to ask people what the most fun state was, you would most likely get many different answers. Most people would tell you the place they lived in. Some would tell you about a place they visited. One thing is for sure, you won’t get a definitive answer when asking for people’s opinions. However, we now have a definitive answer thanks to WalletHub. So now the real question, where does Florida rank for most fun states?

WalletHub Criteria

To get their rankings, WalletHub used 26 key indicators of affordable fun. These indicators include everything from movie ticket prices and access to national parks to the number of nightlife options per capita. After determining each state’s overall score by determining their weighted average across all metrics, they then ranked them accordingly. This is what we got from the data.

Least Fun States

Arkansas, Rhode Island, Delaware and Mississippi are among the worst for least fun states. But the state that is King of the “least fun” is West Virginia. This is no surprise seeing as the Mountaineer state is ranked 41st in nightlife, 48th for Variety of Arts, Entertainment & Recreation Establishments, and the worst for Personal Expenditures on Recreation Services per Capita. Luckily the opposite can be said for Florida.

Florida – The Most Fun State

Topping the nation with the highest number of restaurants, amusement parks, arcades, and music festivals per capita, Florida ranks as the most fun state in 2024. Even if those activities aren’t your thing, Florida still shines with the third-most attractions per capita and ranks sixth in the variety of arts, entertainment, and recreational establishments. The Sunshine State also enjoys the 12th-best overall weather and boasts the highest number of marinas per capita, along with the second-longest coastline.

Knowing you live in a fun state can actually help your health according to WalletHub Analyst, Cassandra Happe. “Living in one of the most fun states can boost your mental, physical and emotional health by giving you a wide range of activities to choose from, both indoor and outdoor. “
