My Night Opening For A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie at Yuengling Center
I had a dope opportunity to open for A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, and it was nothing short of a wild experience. The crowd was lit from the moment I stepped on stage, and it only got better as the night went on. Known for his hit songs like “Look Back at It” & “Drowning,” A Boogie has a massive following here in Tampa, but mostly he has even bigger fans in the Tri-State area. It was clear that many of them had made the trip down or are living out here in Florida, and their presence was felt.
As I hit the set, I knew I had to set the tone for the night. I kicked things off with a mix of some New York classics, tracks that would make any NYC native feel right at home. The crowd went crazy when I played “Empire State of Mind” from Jay-Z & Alicia Keys. I also sprinkled in some of the latest club anthems from Sexyy Red & 41it was one great reaction after another, giving it a party vibe in the area. The vibe was undeniable, and I could feel the excitement building as we got closer to the show starting.
In addition to my set, I had the chance to DJ for the opening act, TheArti$t, who brought an impressive stage presence and vibe to the show. Her R&B-infused set was smooth and soulful, setting the perfect tone to set the stage for A Boogie. The crowd vibed to her and I had a blast spinning for her performance.
By the time A Boogie hit the stage, the energy in the Yuengling Center was up. The fans were ready, and the night was awesome. It was an honor to be part of such a great concert, hyping up the crowd and setting the stage for one of the best shows Tampa has seen this year.
