Florida Man Who Killed Couple Will Go To Mental Hospital Instead Of Prison
Monday a judge accepted a plea deal from a Florida man who randomly killed a couple in their garage back in 2016. He also chewed the husband’s face. Instead of prison , Austin Harrouff will go to a mental hospital for treatment. Harrouff plead not guilty by reason of insanity to two counts of first-degree murder and other charges for the slayings of John Stevens and his wife, Michelle. The agreement worked out to where a trial would be avoided. Harrouff will be committed to a secure mental health facility until doctors and a judge agree that he is no longer dangerous. If this case would have gone to trial, Harrouff would have faced life prison.
