“Over 300 school threats were reported since September in this Florida County.” This is very disturbing but Im glad that people are speaking up when they hear or see something suspicious. Sadly, there has been a rise in school threats all over the United States. It’s a very scary time and we must pay attention to what kids our kids are doing, specifically what they are posting online. I currently live in St. Petersburg but I don’t have any children. My godson however lives in Collier County and in this county over 300 school threats were reported since September.
Over 300 School Threats Were Reported In Collier County
According to NBC2, over 300 school threats were reported in Collier County since September. 132 of those threats were investigated which led to the arrest of 4 students. Two of those threats were made because of weapons on campus and the other two were due to social media threats that were made. The Collier County Sheriff’s department has been stressing the importance of monitoring children’s social media use. If you get arrested for threatening violence, it is a felony. It does not matter how old you are , it is still a felony!
The Collier County Sheriff released a statement saying, “We know mental health crisis is a big part of threats today, we will go as far as and have, knocking on the door in the middle of the night with a post, asking if, in fact, this post came from your child. They need to reach out to get help. Go to their principal, go to their teacher, go to their youth relations deputy. We’re there to help them get to us before trouble begins, because it’s hard to come back from that type of a case,”

Palm Bay is one of the Florida cities with the most mass shootings in 2024. The first mass shooting incident happened January 20, 2024. 3 victims were killed and two of them were injured. The second mass shooting incident happened on January 28, 2024. 3 victims were killed and two were injured. The suspect in this situation was also killed.

Orlando
I love Orlando but they are also a Florida city with the most mass shootings in 2024. The first incident happened on February 28, 2024. 1 person was killed and 6 were injured. On April 11th, 2024, the second mass shooting in Orlando took place. 1 person was killed and 3 were injured.
Pensacola
The first mass shooting of 2024 happened in Pensacola on June 2nd. Nobody was killed but 4 people were inured. The second mass shooting happened on July 28th. 2 people were killed and 5 victims were injured.

The first mass shooting of this year that happened in Fort Lauderdale was on June 14th. 1 person was killed and 4 victims were injured. The second mass shooting happened July 8th were 2 people were killed and 3 were injured.

Tampa has also had two shootings so far in 2024. The first shooting happened on June 23rd where 1 was killed and 3 people were injured. The second one happened on July 5th were 5 people were injured.
