Florida Man Lied About Having Suicidal Thoughts So He Could Get Baker Acted
Reports tell us that Christopher Harris lied about having suicidal thoughts because he was attempting to get baker acted. If you don’t know what a baker act is, it is urgent mental health care for those who need mental health services. It should only be used when all other avenues of intervention have been exhausted.
On July 2nd, police were called to a Dollar General in Poinciana. Police were responding to Harris who called and saying he was having suicidal thoughts. When police actually spoke with him, he admitted to lying because he needed a place to spend the night. Harris told police he was tired of living at his current residence.
