Florida Man Allegedly Drops Child From Balcony
Everyone remembers the controversy that erupted with Michael Jackson and the Infamous Balcony. If you don’t, all you have to do is Google it. When Michael Jackson held his son Blanket over Berlin’s Adlon Hotel balcony, all anyone could think about was what could have happened. You most likely also learned to never put your child in danger like that. Everyone except for Brandon Gilmore. This Florida man dropped his son from the second-floor balcony.
The Story
According to a report obtained by WESH, Brandon Gilmore was meeting up with his child’s mother at the Sandlewood Beach Resort to partake in some day drinking. The problem is she took their son there as well. Now I’m not saying your child can’t be around parents while they are drinking, but in this case, it would have been better for the child’s safety.
At around 8 pm, the 31-year-old Gilmore allegedly decided it would be a great idea to take his son outside and “scare him a little bit”. What does that mean? To Gilmore, that meant dangling his 4-year-old son over the second-story balcony of their hotel room. He even tried to do tricks!
“He was just like swinging in, playing with them,” one witness said “And then he let him go, and he had him by one foot. And then the kid slipped right out of him and fell directly on his head on the concrete, no grass.”
According to police, the child turned purple which forced the parents to take the child to the hospital. the 4-year-old suffered blunt-force trauma to his head. He later released with no long-term effects. Gilmore however, is being held at the Volusia County Jail with no bond and is being charged with aggravated child abuse.
