Man Tries To Redeem Stolen Lotto Ticket Where He Stole It From
In today’s edition of “don’t do this,” we have a story about a man who was recently arrested for breaking into a gas station in order to steal…scratch-off tickets. Allegedly 23-year-old Brandon Hunter of Jackson, Michigan broke into the gas station by smashing the front glass door with a rock. Once inside, he helped himself to an undisclosed number of scratch-off lottery tickets before making his escape.
He then took the stolen tickets home and started scratching away. As luck would have it, one of the tickets turned out to be a winner…for $100. So what did he do? He took his winning ticket back to the SAME gas station he broke into to try and to cash it in. And that’s when he was arrested.
Hunter has been charged withbreaking and entering, as well as larceny from a building. If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in prison for the breaking and entering charge, and up to 5 years for the larceny charge. Ten years for $100 is defiantly not worth it! [Source: MLive]
