Tampa Now Releases A Rendering Of New Tampa Bay Rays Stadium
See…. this is why St. Pete and Tampa are divided. Early this month the Tampa Bay Rays released a proposal for a new stadium in St. Pete that included photos and location. So what does the City of Tampa do? Well, because they think they’re better than St. Pete, they released some new renderings too.
Their proposed stadium is just South of Ybor City, and just east of the Channel. Darryl Shaw is the Tampa developer that plans to turn 25 acres of industrial land into a so-called “GasWorx” District.
Per @tampatomorrow on IG, the Rays are still exploring options for a stadium in Tampa. Some former and current tampa bay ray players have chimed in on the discussion on instagram as well 👀👀👀🔥🔥🏝️ #MoveTheRaysToTampa pic.twitter.com/QuZAWBJZ4g

The City of Tampa released the following statement:
“There are still significant questions that need to be answered in terms of financing and infrastructure….Tampa’s position remains as it’s always been: Tampa would be an ideal location for the Rays stadium, but anywhere in Tampa Bay would be a win for our community.”
The Rays have not commented on this plan. [Source Fox 13]
