Next Stop: Florida For Odell Beckham
Odell Beckham is on his way to sunny south beach.
The 31-year-old wide receiver is now on his 3rd team in 3 years. Odell Beckham just signed a 1-year deal to play football in Miami with the Dolphins, for $8.25 million. Odell will join the stacked wide receiver core of Tyreke Hill & Jaylen Waddle and will be catching from Pro Bowl QB Tua Tagovailoa.
Last year, Beckham played with the Baltimore Ravens, after being sidelined for all of the 2022 year recovering from a torn ACL that he sustained while with the Los Angeles Rams in their Super Bowl win in 2021. With Baltimore, he played 14 games, made 35 receptions for 565 yards, and made it all the way to the AFC Championship game where they faced the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs.
With Odell’s presence on the Dolphins, it is a low-risk, high-reward situation, as Beckham looks to find that flare on the field, he once possessed prior to his ACL injury a couple years ago. He is set to be Miami’s number 3 option behind Hill & Waddle. Many feel the signing is a bit of a head scratcher considering Miami has already drafted wide receivers in last week’s NFL Draft. However, Dolphin’s head coach, Mike McDaniels feels you can never have too many wide outs.
This upcoming NFL season is deemed to be the most interesting one yet. With high expectations for the recent draftees and the new team acquisitions through free agency. It will for sure be a season to watch & fans can’t wait to see. If Odell is anything like how he played when he was with the L.A. Rams, Miami fans are sure in for a treat & could be the scariest offensive team in AFC, maybe even the league.
