Lakeland Man Throws Molotov Cocktails at Home
Sunday morning, deputies in Polk County responded to a call about a man throwing seven Molotov cocktails on the roof of a home in Lakeland. When they arrived, the suspect, Luke Neely, had already driven away from the area in a Chevrolet pickup truck. This led to a chase and a failed pit maneuver by Polk County deputies. The pursuit finally ended near the ramp on I-4 at Branch Forbes Road.
According to the news release, deputies shoot Neely, after he got out of the truck with a fully loaded AR riffle. He was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
The 30-year-old was charged with attempted first-degree murder, arson, fire bombing and resisting arrest. Judd said in a news conference that more charges are expected to follow from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office and Florida Department of Law Enforcement. [Source: WTSP]
