Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Gets Suspended
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers star wide receiver Mike Evans, has been suspended for one game after he blindsided New Orleans Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore. The suspension will cost Evans $48,620, and he will not appeal the decision. This is a big hit for Bucs fans as Mike Evans is one of the best wide receivers in the NFL, and he is a key part of our offense.

But this isn’t the first time that Mike Evans has been involved in a situation with Marshon Lattimore. They’ll had a on going feud for a few seasons now. In 2016, he was fined $24,309 for unnecessary roughness after he shoved New York Giants cornerback Janoris Jenkins to the ground during a play. And earlier this season, he was involved in a scuffle with Buffalo Bills cornerback Tre’Davious White.
Suspensions in the NFL have been on the rise in recent years. In 2017, there were 242 players suspended from the NFL. That number is up from 206 players in 2016 and 158 players in 2015. There are a variety of reasons why players are suspended, but the most common reason is for violating the league’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs. Other reasons include violating the personal conduct policy, violating the substance abuse policy, and unsportsmanlike conduct. [Source: WFLA]
