Drake: Fans Believe Kendrick Lamar Diss Is Coming Due To Cryptic Post
Fans believe that there is a Kendrick Lamar diss coming, based on Drake’s latest Instagram post. On Drake’s Instagram Story Thursday (April 11), the rapper posted a t-shirt with the Jamaican dancehall musician Vybz Kartell working in the studio. The shirt Drake is holding up reads “Free Kartel” and features artwork from Vybz Kartel’s 2003 album, Up 2 Di Time. Producer Boi-1da posted a photo of Vybz as well as online personality DJ Akademiks.

It’s possible that Drake and Boi-1da are cooking something up in the studio, and fans believe the next offering from Drizzy will be shots taken at Kendrick Lamar.
As for the connection to the dancehall artist, back in 2o16, Drake called him one of his “biggest inspirations” and one of his favorite artists. ” You want to talk about a guy that is coming out of a place that has their own thing, their own culture, and absolutely just taking over to becoming the one person to idolize,” Drake said at the time.
The shirt Drake holds up in his Instagram Story may have a subliminal message, according to fans, signaling that Drizzy might be ready to strike soon. Fans believe that Drake’s post is drawing a parallel between him and Kendrick. Vybez was notably in a battle with Mavado, another dancehall artist, for the top spot in their genre, and they continuously threw shots at each other over the years. However, in 2008 at Sting on Boxing Day (December 26), it all came to an end when Mavado had his friends go on stage at Sting to battle Vybz. Vybz stood alone and won the battle despite Mavado having a crew with him. Vybz felt some type of way about the situation due to the fact that he elevated Mavado and his fellow artists by gaining popularity in their proximity to him and in turn they did him dirty by going against him.
If you draw this parallel between the situation going on with Kendrick, Drake has worked with Future, A$AP Rocky, Rick Ross, and The Weekend in the past but they all have went against him recently. While the situation is by no means the exact same, it wouldn’t be a complete surprise if that’s what Drake is suggesting will be the result of this rap battle as well.
Kendrick Lamar Diss Is Coming According To Joe Budden
In addition to Drake’s post, Joe Budden also said that he’s heard that there is a diss coming from both camps.
“I have it on good information that both sides went in the booth and came out,” Joe Budden explains on his podcast. “What I’m hearing about both sides is that it’s nuclear. It’s up-up. I’m hearing this from people that can rap. So, I want to come in here and say that speculation time is over. Debate time is over.”
After J. Cole bowing out of the beef with his apology to Kendrick Lamar, Budden believes that what is to come will be on a more personal level with the two.
“Get out the way,” Budden says. “Whatever little rappy s— you thought was going on, it’s not that and something is coming. I think that J. Cole knows that from either Kendrick or Drake or both. It was time to bow out because now we are no longer in the first round. Kendrick has earned himself a by with Cole’s apology.”
