Florida Residents Please Do Not Scan This QR Code Because It Will Take All Of Your Information
We are approaching the end of the year and sadly that’s when a lot of the scams start happening. “Florida residents please do not scan this QR code because it will take all of your information.” Apparently there is a new scam going around that is not only happening in Florida but all over the United States. I live in St. Petersburg and have not been targeted yet but thanks to this information I will not fall victim. Please warn all of your family and friends so that they won’t fall victim either.
Police Officer Warns Others About A New Scam Alert
According to an officer who goes by the Instagram name Fitbocop1914, there is a new scam going around. Basically you will receive a free gift in the mail from places like Amazon. The gift will have your address on it but it will not have the senders information. When you open the package there will be a QR code inside for you to scan. DO NOT SCAN THIS QR CODE! Once you scan this code all of the information in your phone will be sent to the scammers. As you know we have all of our banking information and other important things in our cellular devices. Please take heed and do not scan. It’s nothing worst than scammers having your banking information or even worse, your personal pictures. The officer actually did a video which you can see below.
According to the officer you can either keep or throw the gift away but do not scan the QR code! If you have ever been hacked before you know that it’s one of the worst feelings in the world. Make sure you tell your family and friends about this scam, especially your elders. Shoutout to Officer Bo Diggs for giving us this information. He is a cop in Georgia but this is happening everywhere especially here in Florida.
