Stevie Wonder, Marsha Ambrosius, and Jhene Aiko To Perform At Nipsey Hussle’s Funeral
Nipsey Hussle once rapped about Stevie Wonder singing at his memorial service.
Today it’s coming to fruition. Stevie Wonder, Marsha Ambrosius, Jhene Aiko, and Anthony Hamilton will sing at the Grammy-nominated rapper’s celebration of life, according to the program that was handed out at The Staples Center, where Hussle’s funeral is taking place today, notes Variety.
Wonder will perform “Rocket Love,” which is from his 1980 album Hotter Than July. Ambrosius will perform Mariah Carey’s “Fly Like a Bird,” Aiko will sing “Eternal Sunshine” from her 2014 album Souled Out, and Hamilton will perform “Do You Feel Me” from the 2007 film American Gangster.
Minister Louis Farrakhan, Minister Reid Rich, Pastor Shep Crawford, Father Thomas Uwal, and hip-hop blogger and entrepreneur Karen Civil will be among those speaking at Hussle’s celebration of life ceremony.
Tributes will also be done by Nipsey Hussle’s longtime girlfriend, actress Lauren London, his mother, Angelique Smith, Snoop Dogg, his daughter and son, Emani and Kross, and London’s son Kameron.
Nipsey Hussle, born Ermias Asghedom was fatally shot on Mar. 31 outside of his apparel store Marathon Clothing in South Los Angeles.
