Lionel Richie: Disney Set To Develop An ‘All Night Long’ Musical Using His Catalog
Lionel Richie has just announced that Disney is developing an original movie based on his song catalog.
Per Variety, the project, titled All Night Long, will use the singer’s greatest hits for a live-action project that will be released in theaters. Lionel Richie has signed on to produce the film, along with his manager. Also, working on the script will be Pete Chiarelli, who has previously written on Crazy Rich Asians and The Proposal.
Variety explains that Richie, who is also a judge on the Disney-owned American Idol, sold the pitch to the studio in January. They add that the film is expected to have the same feel as Mamma Mia, which is based on the Abba songbook.
