Nipsey Hussle’s Basketball Court Mural Unveiled At Crete Academy In Crenshaw
Over the weekend, the late Nipsey Hussle’s basketball court mural was unveiled at Crete Academy in Crenshaw.
Students at the academy that’s only been open for three years gathered to unveil the “Victory Lap” rapper’s mural that’s painted on the school’s basketball court alongside Nipsey Hussle’s family and friends. Hussle’s father, Dawit Asghedom and his sister, Samantha Smith were in attendance.
The students of Crete Academy also put on a special dance tribute and there was also an “All Star Game” in remembrance of Nipsey Hussle that took place.
“We were honored to host the Asghedon family today and the unveiling of the @nipseyhussle basketball court. At a time that is equally as painful as it is beautiful, it was nice to be able to give out love, joy and hope today. Shout out to @karencivil for working overtime to make sure the family was a part of our event and to @veniceball for the incredible vision,” was written on Crete Academy’s Instagram page on Sunday (Apr. 14) as the caption for a photo that was shared of Nipsey Hussle’s family in attendance of the unveiling ceremony.
